5G Auctions; details;

1) So far two auctions of 5g spectrum were held.
First 5g auction on Aug 2022 and second 5g auction on
june 2024.
2) 2022 auction is 9th auction
2024 auction is 10th auction.
The numbering of auctions has 2010 as base year.
3) 2022 auction expected income = Rs 1 lakh crore
actual income earned = Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
After 40 clock rounds in 7 straight days , 5g auction 2022
was concluded on Aug 1.
Total bid amount = 1,50,173 crore
Spectrum sold = 51236.2 MHz.
This is 71% of the spectrum put for auction.
Earned revenue by the govt is Rs 1.5 lakh crore and spectrum
sold is 71% mark the grand success of 5 g auction 2022.
43) 2024 auction: revenue earned Rs 11340 crore
4pectrum sold = 141.4 MHz of all frequencies.
Airtel purchased = 97 MHz
Reliance Jio = 14.4 MHz
Vodafone = 30 MHz
Total spectrum purchased in 10th auction = 141.4 MHz
5) Total amount paid by companies = Rs 11340.78 crores._
6) It is important to note that in this 10th auction no 5g spectrum
(n26 GHz) is sold. The following 4 frequencies were sold:
900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2500 MHz.
7) No bidding took place in 800 MHz, 2300 MHz, 3300 MHz,
26 GHz bands. Though it is named 5g auction, no 5g spectum
of 26 GHz took place.
8) All the available spectrum in the aforesaid 8 frequencies
were put to action. But there were activities only in
4 bands.
9) Total spectrum kept for auction = 533.36 MHz
SPECTRUM SOLD THROUGH AUCTION = 141.4 MHz.
This is 26.5 % The remaining unsold spectrum of 73.5 %
will be put to auction next time.
10) Only three telcos had participated in this auction
(Airtel, Relaince Jio, Vodafonw idea) . Adani telecom
did not participate.
