Language was a big issue in NEET 2017 with many candidates claiming that vernacular papers were easier. The number of candidates registered for different languates in NEET 2017 were: English, 80.16 %; Hindi, 10.59 %; Telugu, 00.15 %; Assamese, 00.33 %; Gujarati, 04.20 %; Marathi, 00.08 %; Tamil, 01.33 %; Bengali, 03.02 %; Kannada, 00.06 %; Oriya,00.03 %; English+Hindi 90.75 %
