The same central govt employees welfare committee had chosen
Pongal as a closed holiday during 2014 and 2015 simply because Pongal
fell on working days. So the central govt employees are not against Pongal.
Holidays are our prerogative and politicians with dwarfed thoughts should not
interfere in our affairs.
In the year 2015, Prophet Mohammed's birthday fell twice on 04.01.2015
and 23.12.2015 and both were declared as closed holidays thereby making the total
to 18 against the normal 17.
