1) These calculations are APPROXIMATE and do not reflect the actual value.
2) So drawing categorical generalisations from these calculations
is very difficult and may be even misleading.
3) These calculations are of BSNL only and in no way connected with MTNL.
MTNL has different Pay scales, pay structure and promotion policy which
I am not aware of.
4) The total number of VRS optees is 78,569. In respect of the above calculation,
almost every case is UNIQUE. Roughly we can estimate that there would be
around 60,000 separate cases out of 78,569. The reasons are as under:
a) Three variables viz Date of appointment, Date of retirement and salary per day
play a vital role in these calculations.
b) The employees were appointed batch by batch during various period of time.
A batch may contain 30 employees (mean value). So if we divide
