LOGICAL POSITIVISM REPLACES TRADITIONAL PHILOSOPHY!

LP or Logical Positivism is a philosophy indeed in the broad sense of the term.
It is the product of the mid-twentieth century which intends to replace the
traditional philosophy.
**
The traditional philosophy is very old and ancient.Science was born later.
Almost every philosophy is based on metaphysics though some claim
to be analytical. The philosophies of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle are a
mixture of metaphysics and analytical.
**
Science slowly and steadily developed and with the growth of science,
philosophy which contains many knowledge claims started facing
criticisms. For example, one of the knowledge claims of philosophy
is "GOD DOES EXIST"or THE SOUL DETERMINES EVERYTHING".
These claims are not verifiable. Science discards these claims with
contempt.

Science accepts only those knowledge claims which can be proved or
rather which are verifiable. Such was the trend prevailed in Europe
during the mid-twentieth century. And naturally Logical Positivism
came into being.

LP has marked the new beginning in the field of philosophical inquiry
and human reasoning. Humanity has passed several stages of HUMAN
REASONING viz theological and metaphysical. Though LP has many
flaws, certainly it is far far superior to theological and dogmatic/metaphysical
reasoning.

Almost every physicist is a logical positivist to some extent. LP has influnced
modern day physicists who know well about its limitations. None of them had made
efforts to organise their collegues who do believe in LP under one umbrella.
Nevertheless, LP rules the minds of many physicists who still try to formulate
a "philosophy" better than LP.
